Face Mapping has been around for thousands of years.
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, the location of acne breakouts on your face can give you an indication of their underlying cause. By pinpointing where your acne pops up, you can easily identify where imbalances lie, how to correct and heal them, and keep them from re-occurring.
The culprit can be attributed to external or internal causes, and in some cases, both.
Chin: Kidney imbalance. Hormones. Resting your hands on your chin. Food or other irritant left on the skin near the mouth.
Cheeks: Stomach problems. Stress. Resting your phone on your face. Sugar. Dirty pillow cases. Makeup powder. Dirty makeup brushes. Food sensitivity (allergies).
Forehead: Digestive imbalances. Possibly too much fat in your diet. Oil from your hair (bangs). Rubbing your forehead- usually during stressful situations, unknowingly. Hats. Build up of toxins.
For Men: The same applies. In addition, if you find that you breakout often in the beard area, change your blades often, use products (shaving cream/gel) that contain no alcohol or fragrance, and shave in the direction of the hair growth. Always moisturize your skin after shaving and try not to exfoliate with a scrub more than once a week. Remember that shaving is a form of exfoliation. If you are doing both often, you are (more than likely) over-drying your skin and causing excessive oil production to compensate for the loss. The end result- a clogged pore.
