Following the birth of my son, a girl’s body was all out of sorts.
I tried just about EVERY diet known to man. Well, the doable ones anyway. Along with my daily hikes to the park and yoga 5 times a week, I had some success… but nothing earth shattering, and definitely nothing to write home about.
21 days ago, I started my journey on the HCG Diet. Today, I am 15 lbs lighter! But that’s not all!! My skin is taunt, clear, and hydrated. I lost over an inch everywhere except my hips, where I lost more than 2… and I’m not even done yet!! I could not be more happy with the results, all thanks to my friend Jade. 🙂

HCG stands for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin. It is a hormone that is produced during pregnancy to encourage the production of progesterone and help support the pregnancy. So how does this work for weight loss? Great Question!
HCG causes the hypothalamus area of the brain to trigger a release of abnormal fat stores. In addition, the hypothalamus controls functions of the endocrine system. One vital role being regulation of metabolism and weight. When administered in relatively small doses and coupled with a very low calorie diet, the result is loss of 1 to 2 pounds per day, on average.
As if the scale dwindling down day after day isn’t enough, because HCG causes the release of abnormal fat, (protecting essential body fat and muscle tissue) the loss is seen most in those stubborn areas- hips, thighs, upper arms, and derriere… aka buttocks! In addition, it prevents storage of NEW FAT and resets metabolism!
Now, its super important to note that this is not a fly-by-night diet fad. Dr. Simeons’ protocol has been around for 50 years. Dr. Simeons’ Pounds and Inches not only gives great detail about the diet, but it is packed full of information on obesity, weight, glands, hormones, and how it all works and effects our bodies. In my opinion, it makes you very conscious of what and how much you put in your body, how it effects you individually, and as Jade would say, “who really needs a 10 oz piece of chicken anyway!?”. I could not agree more after being on this journey.
You will want to set aside a minimum of 47 days to get you back to normal eating. (23 days on protocol, 3 days weaning, 21 days on Maintenance). Please understand that it is, no less than, a 2 month commitment. A crash diet by no means!
There are two ways that you can obtain HCG. One is through injection. You have to visit the administering doctor X amount of times to get your dose and it is QUITE PRICEY! The other (the option I used) is through homeopathic drops (Made in the USA). VERY affordable and the protocol for the diet portion is the same.

Once you place your order you will receive a link to their blog where you will find EVERYTHING you could possibly need. Also included is the Pounds and Inches protocol which I suggest you print out since you will be referring back to it OFTEN. If you have any questions they will usually email you back within a few hours or you can live chat with them during office hours as well.
The important thing with this diet is to listen to your body!! There may be some proteins or some vegetables that your body is more or less receptive to. Drink LOTS of water; half your weight to be exact. Most importantly, don’t freak out when the scale starts showing you a loss of 1/2 a pound instead of a whole pound. This is totally normal. Be happy! A loss is a loss… all of us are different but it will all even out at the end.
